Every year, it happens like clockwork. Those of us in the northern states grit our way through weeks of bitter cold, watching the thermometer dip into the kind of temperatures that make even the hardiest gearheads think twice about opening the garage door. But then—finally—the first thaw arrives. The weatherman hints at a stretch of days creeping toward a balmy 50 degrees, and suddenly the phones in performance shops across the region start lighting up.
At our corporate headquarters in Rochester Hills, Michigan, the winter “off‑season” has been anything but quiet. Dodge Vipers have been rolling in steadily for months. Our connection to the Viper community runs deep; several members of our team were involved in the original development of the legendary V‑10 engine. Prefix painted every 5th‑generation Viper for Dodge, producing some of the most stunning, high‑quality finishes ever applied to the car. Over the years, we’ve crafted bespoke interiors for owners who wanted something truly personal—and of course, our 9.0L upgrade continues to be the most sought‑after enhancement for these iconic American supercars.
If you’ve spent any time at the M1 Concourse motorsports community in Pontiac, Michigan, you’ve likely seen our Prefix Performance Center nestled within the 87‑acre property. It has become a hub for the 250+ garage owners who trust us with everything from routine service and maintenance to performance upgrades, appearance enhancements, and tech inspections for those eager to stretch their legs on the 1.5‑mile track.
What started as a small satellite shop has grown into a genuine gathering place. During M1’s public events, the Performance Center turns into a lively hangout—part workshop, part clubhouse, and always full of enthusiasts swapping stories, checking out builds, buying Prefix Swag and cool motorsports gifts, and soaking in the atmosphere.
As the temperatures rise and the roads clear, we know what’s coming next. The season is about to begin, and the Vipers—and everything else with horsepower to spare—are ready to come roaring back to life. (Watch out for those potholes!)
